“TN Short Film Festival & Competition in Chennai”

Many of us dream to be a Film Director, Cameraman, Editor, Music Director, but only few could able to succeed their dreams. The successful crowd always know what they are doing in the present and where they are going to be in the future. As new entrants to the film industry, many feel like they are in the midst of a wild forest and lot of them quit in the half way. It is almost a dead end in all the directions you proceed. But the success comes to the one who breaks the wall.

After witnessing several short film competitions, we analyzed most of the decision was biased. A double meaning comedy film is selected as winner, when a classic drama or patho are not selected or not even considered even in the top ten movie list. We understand your pain.

So, we have 6 genres where you can explore your talents. We value your hard work & hard earned money, that is why we are starting this short film competition. Come on, start sending your short films. Terms

Submission

  • You are entitled to submit your old short films also.
  • Total running time must be less than 20 minutes in length, including front and back credits. There is no minimum running time.
  • The short film can be in any language. All non-English films must have English sub-titles for festival presentation.
  • Each Uploaded film should be labelled with the Title, Genre all Contact details.
  • Multiple entries can be submitted. Each film is considered as a new entry.
  • TN Short Films and S Bioscope Productions have rights to use the entries / send / selected / nominated films,
  • Films once selected & submitted for final screening will not be allowed to be withdrawn under any circumstances until festival is over.

ENTRY FEE

  • The Entry form/Application will be considered only on receipt of administrative film submission entry fee of  Rs.900/- (Nine hundred rupees) – (Films produced in India)
    US$ 20 (Twenty American Dollars) – (Films produced outside India)
  • The Submission can  be done  through online only, will be considered for the competition.
  • Participants can send Youtube link through Register form
  • Don’t send short films through Postal

Date of submission

  • Last Date for the Submission of short films can be from 15th March 2018 (with Rs 900 OR $20 Entry Fee)
  • Films submitted for selection will be considered as final and no changes will be entertained after submission. It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to submit Films without any physical / quality defects.
  • The competition is open for professionals as well as students. No separate section for student filmmakers.

LEGAL IMPLICATIONS

  • Short films that are submitted must be the entrants’ original work and shall not infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties.
  • Contestants agree that they have obtained all required permissions regarding music, sound and/or images presented in your short film. By entering the Festival, the entrant agrees that the TN Short Film Festival will not be held liable for any copyright infringements perpetrated by you or your short film.
  • The TN Short Film Festival reserve the rights to not screen any film(s) for any reason it deems valid.
  • The entrants may also run the risk of being prosecuted as per the Indian Criminal Procedure Code and the Indian Media Law for any offence or infringement. Racial, religious and regional discrimination shall not be portrayed in any part of the film being submitted.
  • All the legal issues, if any, shall be under the jurisdiction of High Courts only.
  • TN Short Film Festival organizing, selection committee members, juries are not allowed to participate in respective festival as a contestant
    Entrants will retain all ownership rights to their films submitted.
